Dunlop tires – independently tested

Dunlop tires are tested by independent testing bodies, magazines and auto clubs

Independent tires tests are an important source of information on tire performance for consumers considering their next purchase and for manufacturers seeking to improve their products.

Numerous independent European testing bodies, auto clubs and motoring magazines regularly carry out assessments of Dunlop tires and their peers. We value their opinion and you may note references to tire test results in the product listings on this website.

Tests will typically consist of side-by-side assessments of tires from different makers in a particular price or performance category, under a variety of road and weather conditions. Testers will evaluate braking performance, traction and handling in wet, dry and winter conditions.

The test results are a good indicator of the performance you can expect from your Dunlop tires, and how they stack up against similar tires from other manufacturers.

EU tire ratings

The new EU tire label provides important information about safety and environmental aspects of a tire

New EU rules require all tires on sale to display a rating based on three criteria: fuel efficiency, wet grip and noise level. Independent tire test bodies will typically take into account around 15 performance criteria. At Dunlop every one of our tires is tested against no less than 50 performance parameters. Your dealer can explain more about the various performance characteristics of a tire.
