Fuel efficiency

eu-tire-label-detail-fuel-efficiencyA rolling tire deforms and dissipates energy. It is one of the 5 resistive forces acting on a vehicle. The energy lost in this way, is expressed as ‘rolling resistance' and is measured by the amount of energy dissipated per unit of distance travelled and per unit of weight carried. Rolling resistance directly impacts fuel consumption and the environment. At lower rolling resistance, the tire dissipates less energy, contributing less to resistive forces and thereby reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emission.

In the EU Tire Regulation label, rolling resistance is expressed in grades, ranging from A to G, informing you about the relative fuel efficiency performance level. A is the highest performance tire in its category; G is currently the least performing.
