Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship
The 2010 BTCC season sees Dunlop returning as title sponsor of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship. The title sponsorship will proceed through 2013. Dunlop was previously the title sponsor from 2005 to 2007 and this agreement means the BTCC’s relationship with the Goodyear-Dunlop group will extend to 11 consecutive years.
In 2010, all BTCC teams will race Dunlop’s new Sport Maxx BTCC tyre which, while improving performance, will also comply with new EU environmental regulations on the use of aromatic oils in tyre construction.
The first races of the season held at Thruxton in sunny conditions saw a win for last minute entry and touring car legend Fabrizio Giovanardi in race one and two. Airwaves BMW driver Steven Kane had his first BTCC race win in race three. With his team-mate Mat Jackson finishing second, the team takes the lead in the 2010 HiQ Teams Championship.
