The EU Tyre Label

The new EU tyre label gives you independent ratings for three important areas of tyre performance: fuel efficiency, wet grip and exterior noise. At a glance, you can quickly evaluate safety and environmental aspects of a tyre.

Fuel efficiency

A measure of the tyre’s rolling resistance. A is the highest rating and G the lowest.

External noise

The external rolling noise of the tyre, measured in decibels. The noise class is shown as black sound waves, from 1 (quiet) to 3 (loud).

Wet grip

A measure of the tyre’s braking performance on wet surfaces, from A (highest rating) to F (lowest rating).

Where you’ll see the EU tyre label

New tyres must display the EU ratings from November 2012, typically in the form of a sticker. Your dealer must display EU ratings for each tyre, so if you can’t find this information make sure to ask. You can also see EU ratings for each tyre on the Dunlop website.
