Mileage & Wear Test Results

November 2015 Almeria, Spain

82% More front tyre mileage potential**        19% More rear tyre mileage potential**

Comments from MTC report conclusion:

“Only the Dunlop RoadSmart III and the Competitor 2 front tyre made it to the end of the mileage test. The Dunlop RoadSmart III was found to have the lowest level of wear at the front while still maintaining good riding character.”

“When measuring the tread groove with the greatest wear, the Dunlop RoadSmart III was found to have the lowest level of wear on the front whilst still maintaining good riding characteristics. All five test riders confirmed that the RoadSmart III still possessed good steering characteristics along with agile handling and a front tyre that could be turned easily.”

Results of dry handling test

January 2016 Mireval, France

Winner RoadSmart III 10.3% better than the average of the competition*

Comment from MTC report conclusion:

“Heavy touring bikes such as the Yamaha FJR 1300 benefit from the brilliant handling of the RoadSmart III, which enables a quick change of lean angle and agile turning with low steering force.

Furthermore, the distinct handling of the Dunlop RoadSmart III does not then result in wobbly or unstable performance on long corners, meaning that hairpin bends can also be mastered effortlessly and with a low level of steering force.”

Results of wet handling test

January 2016 Mireval, France

2nd place (by just 1%!); RoadSmart III 4.6% better than the average of the competition*

Comment from MTC report conclusion:

“The RoadSmart III demonstrated an excellent and reliable grip balance. Particularly when turning and in alternating curves, the rider can rely on the high level of grip at the front tyres and the razor-sharp steering.”

Revolutionary new tread design. A tyre with a dry, wet grip that’s stronger for longer. Dunlop RoadSmart III sets the new benchmark for sports touring performance, and the Motorrad Test Center results prove it
