The latest Dunlop RoadSmart IV has been announced as a Motorrad test winner after the leading German magazine tested six tyre brands in the sport-touring sector through a total of 15 assessments.

Motorrad put all the tyres to the test in a comprehensive evaluation on both road and track, using a BMW R1250RT. The Dunlop RoadSmart IV, launched this month, achieved the top rating in 12 of the 15 tests, including the wet handling test.

“When it rains the tyre delivers phenomenal performance. The strong grip reserves on wet asphalt can be felt from the first metre, also in curves. That gives extremely high confidence,” Motorrad stated in its summary of the RoadSmart IV’s performance.

The testers were equally effusive about the Dunlop tyre’s performance on country roads: “The tyre shines with perfect straight-line stability, and the feedback is also at a very high level.”  The GT-version of RoadSmart IV was used for the test, with its construction proving to be a perfect match for the BMW: “The Dunlop also convinces with its very stable GT version, showing impressive steering precision. All in all, it impresses with its excellent balanced performance on wet and dry roads.”
