THE ROAD IS YOURS.

With the new RoadSmart IV, the road is yours. The optimised tread pattern and advanced compounds help you command the road with confidence, even in the wet. Ride stronger, ride longer.

Dunlop tyre technologies

CARCASS TENSION CONTROL SYSTEM (CTCS)

Carcass Tension Control System (CTCS) controls casing stress distribution, optimising the tension in different areas, resulting in more consistent and controlled line holding, straight-line traction and better feedback.

JOINTLESS TREAD (JLT)

Jointless Tread (JLT) strip-winding technology allows multiple compounds to be precisely positioned on the tyre to achieve advantages in durability, wear resistance, grip from the tread centre to shoulder and high-speed tyre stability.

DYNAMIC FRONT FORMULA (DFF)

The front tyre section shape and mould profile have been optimised using Dunlop’s Dynamic Front Formula (DFF) design approach. This provides the ideal balance between steering effort, stability and feedback, delivering unparalleled rider confidence and enjoyment.

HISILICA

An increased Silica content is used to promote compound flexibility at low temperatures. Used to reduce a compound's reliance on temperature to offer optimum grip in wet and less than ideal conditions, as well as to increase mileage.

MULTI-TREAD (MT) TECHNOLOGY

Years of success in global Superbike, Endurance and GP championships have resulted in the development of a pioneering multi-compound, which is transferred to many of our current Sportmax track and road products. By mixing compounds, the same tyre can display different performance properties at maximum leaning angles than when upright during straight line speed.

JOINTLESS BELT (JLB) CONSTRUCTION

All our radial street tyres are designed using a combination of Computer Aided Design (CAD) technology and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) as well as JointLess Belt (JLB) construction (either front or rear). JLB construction eliminates the belt overlaps resulting in smoother handling and a more stable contact patch with the road.

RAYON PLY CASING (RPC)

Rayon is used as casing ply material, to improve mileage & shorten warm-up time.

SINGLE CORD JOINTLESS BELT (SC-JLB) CONSTRUCTION

All our radial street tyres are designed using a combination of Computer Aided Design (CAD) technology and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) as well as JointLess Belt (JLB) construction (either front or rear). JLB construction eliminates the belt overlaps resulting in smoother handling and a more stable contact patch with the road.

Benefits

INNOVATIVE PATTERN DEVELOPMENT

The new pattern will ensure faster warm up times and optimised wear thanks to the tuned tread stiffness and enhanced groove angles.

INNOVATIVE TREAD DESIGN WITH INCREASED SEA RATIO ON FRONT AND REAR

The Roadsmart IV tread pattern maintains all the advantages of its predecessor with the added benefit of superior wet performance and further improved consistency throughout its service life.

ENLARGED AND MORE CONSISTENT DYNAMIC FOOTPRINT

The Roadsmart IV CTCS-casing provides a more consistent dynamic footprint between 7° and 30° of lean enduring better wear appearance, contributing to durability and improved compound efficiency.

DFF-OPTIMISED MOULD PROFILE AND SECTION SHAPE

Using Dunlop's proven DFF (Dynamic Front Formula) the front and rear tyres' section shapes have been intricately optimised to offer both responsive handling and confidence-inspiring stability, even when riding two-up and carrying luggage.

BAR-RAISING WET PERFORMANCE

The all-new compound and optimised pattern design work in conjunction to provide the very best in wet performance.
