Dunlop tyres are routinely tested by independent bodies, magazines and auto clubs.

They independently test our tyres for an average of 15 key performance criteria, typically including:

  • Wet and dry handling and braking
  • Cornering grip
  • Durability
  • Fuel consumption
  • Internal noise
  • Aquaplaning

Main test bodies

ÖAMTC (Der Österreichische Automobil-, Motorrad- und Touring Club)

The Austrian Automobile, Motorcycle and Touring Club was founded in 1896 and is an independent, not-for-profit organisation. 

Auto Express

This influential car magazine specialises in providing readers with unbiased reviews on cars and aftermarket products, including annual summer, winter and all-season tyre tests.

Stiftung Warentest

This is a consumer foundation, based in Germany and dedicated to providing unbiased advice on all types of products. Their ratings have a tremendous influence on consumer purchases across Europe.

Test World

Based in Lapland, Finland, this independent organisation specialises in winter tyre and car testing under winter conditions.

EU Tyre Label tests

EU Tyre Label ratings evaluate a tyre based on three performance characteristics: fuel efficiency, wet grip and noise. 

Internal Dunlop tests

Dunlop engineers also test our tyres – against more than 50 performance parameters.
